Rob Nixon is a professor in the Humanities and the Environment at Princeton University.

His 2011 book Slow Violence and the Environmentalism of the Poor won the American Book Award; the International Studies Association’s 2012 Sprout Award for the best book in environmental studies; the 2012 Interdisciplinary Humanities Award for the best book bridging disciplines in the humanities; and the 2013 ASLE Award for the best book in environmental literary studies.

His writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, The Guardian, The Nation, London Review of Books, HuffPost, and The Times Literary Supplement.
