Giandomenico Romanelli is an academic, writer, and art critic. He was director of the Civic Museums of Venice for 30 years and has been a member of the National Council for Cultural Heritage since 1992.
Romanelli has devoted himself in particular to the study of artistic and architectural culture in the Neoclassical period and in the 19th and 20th centuries, publishing several books and specialist studies.
